The idea behind this module is to generate temporary passwords that your clients can easily remember, sparing them from having to COPY and PASTE a random string into your WHMCS login form.
After all, isn't it much easier to tell someone that their temporary password is mustang-one-six-three rather than x-ray-three-uppercase-J-uppercase-Q-seven-lowercase-m-four-zero-uppercase-yada-yada? Furthermore, opening an e-mail and then copying and pasting a password is tedious work. Sparing your client from having to do this, even one time, streamlines their experience and makes for happier customers.
Once installed, a GENERATE button is placed next to certain password input boxes (mostly in the admin area, but you can customize where they do and do not appear). When clicked, an AJAX request is sent to the PHP script that actually generates the passwords. The newly-generated password is then populated in the password field, so that the operator can simply recite the new password to the client.
By default, the password returned is comprised of a random word (taken from an included list) followed by a random three (3) digit number. Example: summer318, winter994, winter745, etc.
Because the password is generated by a PHP script, you can easily customize it and create the kinds of passwords you want, even (God forbid) a random string.
Credit is due to Star Network because this module was influenced by their similar module for WHMCS v5.
