The OVH notification module will keep your end-users informed about important events that happen with any OVH IPs assigned to them. The module scans your email account and matches the IPs in emails that OVH sends to you to your customer's WHMCS profile and then sends the relevant notification to your end-user allowing you to resolve the problem faster and keep your customer informed about important events.
For example, your customer is sending spam and OVH sends you an email to say port 25 is blocked on your customer's IP. The OVH notification module will match the IP in the spam email from OVH to your customer's profile in WHMCS and send them a spam detected email.
The OVH notification module works with any OVH IP (excluding cloud) and supports the following notifications;
If your customer uses an OVH dedicated server or OVH VPS Server (excluding cloud) then the full range of notifications will be received.
You purchase a dedicated server from OVH and deploy SolusVM or other Hyper-Visor like Hyper-V or Virtualizer to the server. You then set up VPS servers for customers and list the assigned IPs to the VPS inside the "Dedicated IP" or "Assigned IPs" fields in WHMCS. At this point, you have a working VPS server but should your customer send spam and OVH block port 25 your customer is not told about this. With the OVH notification module, your customer will receive the Anti-Spam (port 25 block) email. The customer would also receive DDoS notifications and Anti-Hack notifications.
You have a customer who has a shared web hosting account and they are utilizing a dedicated IP. The Dedicated IP is listed in the "Dedicated IP" field inside the customer's WHMCS profile. A DDoS attack is detected aimed at your customer's dedicated IP and OVH sends you a notification about this. With the OVH Notification module, your customer will get an email warning them you have detected a DDoS attack aimed at their IP. Once the attack has ended they will also receive an email saying the DDoS attack has been foiled.
All email templates can be edited to your exact needs via the email templates the module will create in Setup > Email templates. Notifications are event and product-specific so, if you reboot a VPS server which is set up on a Hyper-Visor, OVH will not send you a reboot notification about this and your customer will not receive a reboot email. This module will work with any other module. The only thing that is required is the OVH IP(s) have to be listed in the "Dedicated IP" and "Assigned IPs" fields in WHMCS. For dedicated servers, the OVH hostname should be present in the hostname field in WHMCS.
The module does not yet support subnets so all assigned IPs have to be listed individually in the "Assigned IPs" field. Email notifications MUST be received from OVH in English. OVH Notifications cannot yet read different languages. You can send notifications to your customers in any language via the email templates.
