If This Then That (IFTTT) – https://ifttt.com/ is an online platform that allows multiple services to be connected together. For example, if you get a certain text message, it can put a post on facebook for you. Alternatively, you can use IFTTT to expand the functionality of existing services such as Alexa, to send you an email when your Alexa alarm goes off.

The principle of IFTTT is simple, connect multiple services together…. Well what about WHMCS?

WHMCS – https://whmcs.com is a client management, billing and support solution primarily used for web hosting. Orders are placed, tickets are raised, invoices are generated and all the bits in between. All of it, within WHMCS.

Usually the staff or administrator of WHMCS receives email notifications whenever a new event occurs. But why not expand how notifications can be received using IFTTT.

Features

This script uses the official WHMCS API to integrate itself as a new Notification Provider. Once set-up, this script using PHP & CURL will pass the notification through to IFTTT to the IFTTT Web Hooks module.

Once setup within WHMCS you can then move to IFTTT.com and configure an endless number of possibilities ranging from Text Message / Mobile Notification to turning on a lamp at home when you get a new notification. You could even have Dominos deliver a pizza to your house when you have a invoice paid (You’re welcome to set this up to my home address!).s

Installation

1. Download the latest version.
2. Upload “IFTTTNotifier” folder to “/WHMCS_INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY/modules/notifications/”.
3. Create IFTTT.com account at ifttt.com/join.
4. Find “Webhooks” on IFTTT.com, ifttt.com/maker_webhooks, and click “Connect” then “Documentation”.
5. Copy the Web Hook key, highlighted at the top of the page. 6.Login to your WHMCS installation admin, navigate to Setup > Notifications then click “Configure” under the IFTTT Notification provider.
6. Paste the Web Hook key into the text field and press Save Changes.
7. Click “Create New Notification Rule” and choose the notification event you want creating and then choose IFTTT Notifier and create a unique event name (Copy this name for later).
8. Navigate to IFTTT Create, ifttt.com/create, choose Web Hooks and enter the unique event name, exactly as entered in Step 8. Then setup IFTTT to connect with another service e.g. Android Notification, Google Drive, Email etc.

Now any time the notification rule created in Step 8 is met, IFTTT will be notified. To have multiple notification rules, repeat Steps 8 & 9 using a different unique event name for each new notification rule.
