Our e-invoice module for WHMCS enables you to create e-invoices from your WHMCS. The process does not change the e-mails sent by WHMCS, which contain the PDF invoice as an attachment, now contain the hybrid PDF invoice with our module, which combines PDF file and XML file. The module uses the ZUGFeRD format to implement the e_invoice.
ZUGFeRD is a cross-industry data format for the electronic exchange of invoice data, which was developed by the Forum elektronische Rechnung Deutschland (FeRD) – with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. ZUGFeRD is a hybrid data format that combines the human-readable PDF file with the machine-readable structured invoice data in XML format. The CII syntax (Cross Industry Invoice) is used here
The module also offers the option of permanently saving the invoice on your web space (caching). WHMCS generally creates invoices on-the-fly, which means that the PDF file is always regenerated. As a result, invoices that the customer downloads again via your customer area in a year’s time, for example, may no longer correspond to the current original, as you may have changed the product names, layout or company name. The caching function in our module stores the original invoice files on your web space and the customer receives the original file each time an invoice is downloaded again.
