Hosting Domain Changer for WHMCS allows hosting providers to offer clients a secure self-service way to change the primary domain of their hosting accounts directly from the WHMCS Client Area.
Instead of requiring clients to open a support ticket and wait for an administrator to manually update the hosting account, the addon can process the domain change automatically according to the rules configured by the administrator.
The addon is designed to perform the change on the actual hosting server first, verify the result, and then synchronize the new domain with the related WHMCS service. This helps keep the hosting control panel and WHMCS service information consistent.
A modern administration interface gives hosting providers full control over which products can use the feature, the maximum number of changes allowed, cooldown periods, DNS verification requirements, Secure Agent connections, request history, and activity logs.
Clients can access the domain change feature directly from their hosting service page. An optional Change Domain Name action can also be displayed inside the service Actions menu for easier access.
The addon includes request tracking and status management for every domain change. Administrators can review the original domain, new domain, service, customer, hosting panel, request status, timestamps, and execution logs from the WHMCS admin area.
For additional protection, the addon supports domain validation, active-service checks, duplicate-domain checks, DNS verification, server-side verification after the change, TLS verification for control-panel connections, cooldown limits, and maximum change limits.
The addon uses direct API integration where supported and includes a Secure Agent architecture for hosting control panels that require server-side execution. This allows the addon to support a wide range of hosting environments while keeping sensitive server operations controlled.
Supported hosting control panels include:
The administration area includes dedicated sections for Dashboard, Products, Requests & Logs, Secure Agents, and Settings.
Each hosting product can be configured independently. Administrators can enable or disable domain changing for individual products, select the appropriate control-panel adapter, define the maximum number of allowed changes, configure cooldown periods, and specify DNS verification requirements.
The Requests & Logs section provides a complete history of domain change operations and their execution status. This makes it easier for administrators to troubleshoot failed requests and maintain an audit trail of domain changes performed by clients.
The addon also supports automatic rollback logic when appropriate. If a server-side domain change succeeds but a later synchronization step fails, the system can attempt to restore the previous domain and record the result for administrator review.
The Secure Agents section allows administrators to configure trusted agent endpoints for supported control panels. Communication can be protected using HTTPS, shared secrets, request signing, and TLS certificate verification.
The addon is fully multilingual. Client Area language files are stored separately from Admin Area language files, allowing both areas to follow their own selected WHMCS language without interfering with each other. This is especially useful when administrators use a different language from their clients.
A built-in licensing system is included. A valid license key must be entered in the WHMCS Addon Modules configuration before the addon can be used. Without a valid license, domain changing functionality is disabled.
The addon also includes a Database Clear option that allows administrators to choose whether addon data should be retained or completely removed when the addon is deactivated.
Hosting Domain Changer is designed for hosting companies that want to reduce manual support work, give customers more control over their hosting services, and maintain a secure and auditable domain-change workflow.
