Agreements & E-Signatures For WHMCS is a WHMCS addon, installed and kept up to date through PD Modules, our free control panel for WHMCS, where it appears as PD Agreements.
Versioned terms, contracts and statements of work your customers actually sign, with evidence you can produce years later.
WHMCS gives you one plain tick box at checkout and keeps nothing you could show anyone afterwards. No record of which version was in force, no snapshot of what the customer saw, no timestamp, no signature, and no way to bring your existing customers onto new terms. That is fine until the day somebody disputes something, and then it is worth nothing.
PD Agreements replaces the tick box with a proper agreement system. You write the agreement in the panel and publish it. The module puts it in front of the right customers, blocks the order until it is signed, records the exact version agreed to with the time, the method and the address, and asks everybody again when you publish a new version. Nobody has to remember to chase anyone.
Admin Area Features
- Write agreements in the panel in Markdown, with no HTML needed: terms of service, acceptable use, a data processing agreement, a statement of work, a privacy notice or anything else
- Immutable versions, each freezing the wording and storing a SHA-256 fingerprint of it, so you can prove what was in force on a given day
- Asked at checkout, where the order cannot complete until it is accepted, on next login, which is how you bring existing customers onto new terms, or on demand only
- Three ways to sign: a tick box, a typed full name, or a drawn signature, with an option to require the customer to scroll the whole document before accept unlocks
- Targeted at everyone, or at chosen products, product groups, client groups or individual clients
- Re-acceptance on change, so publishing a new version asks everyone who signed an older one
- An Awaiting signature list, with reminders you send by hand or on a schedule
Client Area Features
- One clear block at checkout: the document, a tick, and their name as a signature. Nothing to download and nothing to email back.
- Their own signed copies, visible and re-downloadable from their client area, which heads off most of the arguments before they start
General Info
- Every signature stores the version, the fingerprint, the date and time, the IP address, the browser and the signature image, and downloads as a self-contained PDF holding the full text as it was accepted.
- Renders on Six, Twenty-One and Nexus, fully translatable with update-safe overrides.
Installed and updated through PD Modules
PD Modules is our free control panel for WHMCS. You install it once, and every module you take from us installs itself inside it.
- No manual installation. Nothing to upload, unzip or set file permissions on, for this module or any of the others.
- Updates apply themselves, so there is no file overwriting between versions and no release notes to watch. WHMCS has no native auto-update for third-party modules; this is the reason the panel exists.
- Every install and update is checked against your server first, for PHP, WHMCS and ionCube versions, and refused outright rather than half applied if it cannot run there.
- Every install and update is staged, verified, and only then swapped in. If any step fails it rolls back to the version you were running.
- Every build is cryptographically signed, and a download whose signature does not verify is rejected rather than installed.
- Uninstalling removes the module's own tables and settings and leaves nothing behind.
